The Gaylord Texan Resort & Convention Center is just that – a Texas size convention center. If you find yourself there you better make your way over to the incredible spa, Relâche. I recently attended a conference there for my “real job” and snuck out for a bit of me-time. Unfortunately, they didn’t have appointments available, but as a hotel guest I was able to purchase a day pass for $40. It was worth every penny.
Relache Spa is a 25,000 square foot European-styled spa that had it all. 14 treatment rooms, a steam room, dry sauna, relaxation room, slumber room, an indoor pool and a private room to dine in if you choose. I was alone for the afternoon, but there was a group of girls having a great time just down the hall. The spa was big enough that their laughter did not distract my relaxation.
Services provided include: massage therapy, body therapy, skin renewal therapy, make-up, nails, hair services and hand and feet treatments.
After I relaxed for a couple of hours I showered in the women’s facilities and one of my favorite things of the day was the scrub bar. There were three options: pomegranate, lemongrass and coconut. They all smelled amazing, so it was hard to choose.
This spa has long hours, day passes and if you’re a local, they have spa memberships starting at $100/month. I will not be disappointed if I find myself having to attend another meeting at this property just so I can revisit the spa!
