It was a beautiful sunny November day at The Broadmoor and most people were outdoors hiking and exploring. I was coming off a tough two months and wanted to find my solace in the spa. So, I escaped for an entire afternoon to the luxurious Spa.
The Broadmoor is a sprawling resort in Colorado Springs, CO and their spa is just as grand. You enter the spa in an internal room with no windows and a perfectly lit spa shop. I was cheerfully greeted, checked in and then given the grand tour.
The spas locker rooms were spacious and clean. They had everything you needed in the women’s facilities to get ready for a game of tennis or a dinner at one of the Broadmoor’s many restaurants.
The spa had every amenity a spa-girl (or guy) could dream off. Dry sauna, steam room, eucalyptus oxygen room (a first for me) all within the women’s facilities. The women’s facilities also had a gorgeous room with couches, chairs, blankets and a fireplace. I perfect way to spend a cold winter day curled up with a book. The men’s facilities mirrored the women’s facilities.
After I enjoyed each of the amenities, I relaxed in the co-ed lounge which had stunning views of the golf course and mountains. The blue sky and mountains were a perfect backdrop for my afternoon of recharging. I sipped on a hot tea and curled up for the afternoon with a magazine, while waiting on my treatment. I opted for a deep tissue massage, but the services include everything from facials to body wraps.
In addition to the amenities within the women’s facilities, the spa has its own pool and hot tub, located on the first floor (spa is on the third floor).
Those who live in Colorado Springs are fortunate to have access to such an incredible day spa. If you’re not lucky enough to live in the area, this is definitely a destination spa. A great place to spend the weekend with friends or significant other.
